Training Quality Assurance Introduction

KISS Rebreathers has been building and selling diving systems since 1998. For over 20 years KISS has been dedicated to building rebreathers that are simple, safe, and reliable. During this time, we have watched our industry change from a handful of manufacturers that wouldn't give each other the time of day, to a group of companies and individuals that are dedicated to the growth of our industry, as well as ensuring the education and safety of our divers.

It is the duty of all rebreather manufacturers to ensure that when a diving system is sold, our clients are able to confidently choose a Training Agency and Instructor that will fulfill the training requirement.

As such, KISS Rebreathers is proud to release an updated Training Quality Assurance program (TQA). As a RESA member, KISS has dedicated much time to the development of industry training standards that exceed other standards. KISS is happy to incorporate the RESA standards into the KISS standards.

As well as publishing the updated RESA - KISS standards in all training materials, the new KISS TQA program incorporates new training agency - instructor requirements which will aid in ensuring that all KISS programs meet our standards. These include:

KISS Instructors work through a number of different KISS approved - training agencies. In order to continue as a KISS Rebreather LLC approved instructor, all instructors will be required to register with KISS annually. Emails will be sent directly to instructors. Any current instructors that do not receive the email should contact KISS at, info@kissrebreathers.com. In order to remain current, all Active Status instructors should register within 30 days, or email KISS with notification on when they will do so.

Course evaluation forms are the other new requirement. In our goal to ensure that all students receive the training that they need, and have paid for, we have created these forms which outline the minimum required skills by KISS Rebreathers. Each form outlines the skills, along with performance scoring, and confirmation signatures by both the instructors and students. At the completion of each course, this form must be emailed to KISS at, info@kissrebreathers.com in order for the student to be listed as a qualified and trained KISS diver. Please note that the skills listed are the KISS minimum standards, and each training agency may require extra work.

We also encourage all KISS rebreather owners, new or used, to ensure that they are registered with us; full name, and contact information (email address is important), the name of the KISS rebreather(s) they own, serial numbers, and if they are trained along with the name of their instructor. *NOTE: While KISS strongly encourages proper training, KISS divers should not be discouraged from registering if they are not trained. Due to the nature of our industry, there are times when important information must be passed on to our divers. We do not do email marketing, and divers’ private information will never be used for that.

We would also like to remind all KISS rebreather owners to join the KISS Rebreather Divers – Official Page Facebook group. Either click on the link, or on Facebook please search the above name to find the link. Anyone having difficulty finding it may email us directly, and we will send them an invitation. Some of the basic registration information is required to join. We encourage ALL KISS rebreather owners to join as this will aid in passing on important information.

Active KISS Rebreather instructors are also encouraged to join the KISS Rebreather Instructors – Official Page Facebook group. Again, this is important as it is a great tool for KISS to pass on important information.

Over the years, KISS Rebreathers has developed a strong working relationship with training agencies. We would like to extend a great big THANK YOU to the training agencies for their assistance in the past few months. We appreciate your support and input. Working together, we all hope to make our industry safer and stronger.
